BMW Motorrad builds flying R 1200 GS concept inspired from LEGO model

BMW Motorrad has fashioned a real full sized version of BMW R 1200 GS new flying motorcycle concept, inspired from a Lego set.

While this BMW R 1200 GS new flying motorcycle is still in concept format, it certainly attracts a great deal of attention as it is made with a 603 piece LEGO kit. The kit has been specially made for BMW Motorrad and is priced at US$ 59.99 (INR 4,026).

BMW Motorrad had created a LEGO variant of the Hover Ride Concept. It was after this very exciting construction that the team decided to build an actual life flying motorcycle with a 603 piece LEGO kit.

The concept will be showcased this week at Lego World in Copenhagen in Denmark following which it will be taken to locations such as BMW Group Research and Innovation Center Munich and BMW Welt.

BMW R 1200 GS flying motorcycle will be interesting to note how the LEGO kit became a hoverbike concept. The front wheel of the bike has become the concept’s propeller while distinctive BMW elements such as boxer two cylinder engine can also be noted in its design.

Every detail of the bike is incorporated into the LEGO concept, right from its moving handlebars and adjustable windshield. A keen eye will even note the authentic BMW telelever front wheel suspension and shaft drive and a moving BMW Motorrad 2 cylinder boxer engine which can be set in motion when the bike is moved. Black spoke wheels, studded tyres and many other such elements are also seen on the model from the real bike.
