Within hours after Ghule family of Pimple Saudagar, Pune, brought home their beloved Maruti Alto 800 CNG from Wonder Cars showroom in Chinchwad via Morya Gosavi temple, they had the horrific misfortune of watching their dream car burn to ashes. They had a mini fire extinguisher inside the car, which they managed to pull out and attempt to subside the flame before calling in the fire brigade. But, by the time fire service arrived, the car was completely burnt, beyond recovery.
What’s worse is that the Maruti dealership hasn’t given any assurance of replacing the car. From the report, it is apparent that the car was not deliberately set on fire. Point of origin of fire is still unknown, but it is suspected that leakage in CNG line has caused the incident.
A team from Wonder Cars (Maruti Suzuki dealership) had come to inspect the car on site, but after that there has been no response from the showroom side. The manager of the outlet seems to be intentionally avoiding calls from the customer and even from The Indian Express. A representative of the showroom did answer the call, once, but refused to share the manager’s mobile phone number, even to the publication.
Upon getting in touch with the sales representative who sold the car to the grieving family, he rudely replied to register an online complaint with Maruti Suzuki and not to concern the showroom.
