With Captiva not quite managing to feature in car buying discussions any more, GM India is hoping to change the scenario with its second contender in the INR 20-25 lakh SUV segment.

Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV has been spotted once again¬†and the latest spy pics give a clear idea on what to expect from the car’s interior. To start with, the SUV offers dual-tone black-beige color theme for dashboard, beige leather upholstery¬†(the prototype spied appears to be of top-end LTZ trim), leather wrapped multifunction steering wheel, piano black centro console with a comprehensive infotainment system, rear centre armrest with cup holders, chrome interior door handles and black inserts on door pads.

Trailblazer is announced to be launched in India later this year.

On the outside, the butch looking ladder frame SUV which derives its roots from Colorado pickup truck sports projector headlamps, LED taillights, 18-inch alloy wheels and a signature dual-port radiator grille.

In the international markets, Trailblazer is available with a choice of two diesel engines. The base 2.5-litre motor is tuned to deliver 163 PS and 380 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The range topping 2.8-litre mill is good for 200 PS and a healthy torque output of 500 Nm. Both manual and automatic transmissions are offer in addition to 4×4 system.

Dual-tone beige-black dashboard color theme is in line with Indian tastes.

It’s reported that only the bigger engine will be offered initially and the smaller engine could join the lineup later to take on entry level Toyota Fortuner. GM needs to get the car from Thailand via CKD route to achieve attractive pricing.
