This engine has been designed and developed by the company’s French partners, Renault engineers at Datsun promising better power delivery. It is called i-SAT – Intelligent Spark Automated Technology resulting in better performance while fuel efficiency stands at 22.5 kmpl, which is an improvement as compared to the 22.04 kmpl offered on the Kwid 1.0 liter. In comparison, the redi Go 800cc counterpart receives a 799cc, three cylinder, DOHC engine offering 53.2 bhp power and 72 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.

Safety

Driving Dynamics

The addition of power has resulted in a better performance. Inside the city, taking off from standstill is done much more efficiently. Thanks to small size, you are able to maneuver your way out through the tightest of spots, and easily find parking.

Power delivery is also smoother, specially at lower revs unlike that experienced on its 800cc counterpart where jerks are predominant at lower engine speeds. The steering wheel is electronic. This has made steering very light, but at the same time, it does not deliver any feedback to the driver. Triple digit cruising speed on the highway is easily achieved.

Suspension system on the 1.0 liter redi Go remains unchanged. This hatchback sports McPherson strut with lower transverse link and twin tube hydraulic shock absorbers. It also gets twist beam with coil springs, twin hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers positioned on front and rear axles. Ride quality is a bit on the stiffer side.
