Datsun redi-GO sport limited edition launch price INR 3.49 lakh

Datsun India launched a new special edition of Redi-Go small car today. Called Datsun Redi-Go Sport, it is on offer with three colour options of Red, White and Grey. All three variants get exterior decals.

Available only with the top-end variant, ‘S’, it will also get a slew of new features. These includes roof mounted spoiler, sporty dashboard, red accents on the front grille, sport themed wheel covers, body graphics, bluetooth enabled audio system, remote keyless entry, sporty black interiors, rear parking sensors.

The car was unveiled at the hands of Sakshi Malik, first Indian female to win an Olympic medal in wrestling. She also becomes the first owner of this Redi-Go Sport limited edition. Price starts from INR 3.49 lakh, ex-Delhi.

Redi-Go Sport is powered by the same three-cylinder petrol 800 cc engine which powers the existing Redi-Go, it delivers 54 PS @ 5678 rpm and 72 Nm @ 4386 rpm. Mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, this engine claims to deliver a mileage of 25.17 kmpl. Weighing only 640 kgs, the reason Datsun has managed to keep the price of Redi-Go aggressive is due to 98% localization levels.

Below is the price list of existing Datsun Redi-Go variants-

Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Datsun redi-GO is bringing a lot of new energy and freshness to the entry car segment. Its eye-catching design and best-in-class features are getting noticed as more and more customers choose to go with redi-GO”.

“We have started deliveries of redi-GOs this month to customers across the country and are delighted by the way Datsun redi-GO is being embraced by the younger generation in the country”, Arun Malhotra added.

Datsun Redi-Go was launched at an astonishingly low price tag of just INR 2.38 lakhs earlier this year. This led the new Datsun Redi-Go to become the best-selling Datsun car in India almost immediately.

But in spite of that, the car is no where when it comes to competing with rivals in the segment, as far as sales numbers are concerned. In the three full months of sales, Redi-Go registered sales of about 10,500 units. In the same period Maruti sold over 46,000 units of Alto, while their alliance partner Renault sold 30,000 units of Kwid.

Competing with India’s best selling car Maruti Alto 800, and the new rising star Renault Kwid, Datsun Redi-Go is designed as an Urban Cross. Now, in order to boost sales ahead of Diwali season, Datsun India has launched new Redi-Go Sport Edition.
