Showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo, Datsun Redi-Go will make global debut in production ready guise on the 14th of April 2016. A small car which sports SUV like features – high ground clearance and a muscular stance, is expected to be priced between INR 3-3.9 lakh once launched.
Based on the same CMF-A platform as Renault Kwid, Datsun Redi-Go is expected to get a petrol and diesel engine option. Petrol engine will be in the form of 800cc 3 cylinder petrol engine derived from the Renault Kwid. This engine generates max power of 54 PS and peak torque of 72 Nm. The diesel engine option expected, is a newly developed 1.0 liter 3 cylinder mill engineered by Nissan.
Though based on the Renault Kwid platform, styling of Datsun Redi-Go will be unique. Where exteriors are concerned, the new Datsun Redi-Go will be seen with a new front fascia with new grille and stylish headlamps. It will also receive a new front bumper with fog lamps and a hood that is akin to that seen on the GO+ MPV.
A curvy windshield adds a sportier stance while at the sides there are elegant door creases and extended wheel arches to be seen. The rear end of the Datsun Redi-Go sports new headlamps, a boot lid with creases and a sporty rear bumper.

Well finished interiors with fine quality fabric will also sport a dashboard in a contemporary style while top end models will receive safety features such as airbags and ABS.
