His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex paid a visit to Bentley Motors historic Pyms Lane factory and took the opportunity to tour the facility and get to meet some of the individuals who make the world’s finest luxury cars.
Bentley Motors has been associated with the Royal household since 2002 having worked in collaboration with UK auto manufacturers to design the State limousine that carries the Bentley badge. Apart from getting to view firsthand the leather and wood that is sued to make these fine epitomes of luxury HRH was also able to take in state of the art production facility within the factory. HRH also met a number of the Bentley apprentices during course of his visit. Bentley has a wide and vibrant Apprentice program aimed at grooming youngsters and providing them with a career in the automobile industry.
The Cheshire Community Foundation charity was launched by HRH at an evening reception held at Bentley Motors. The event was attended by over 100 guests, business people and dignitaries from adjoining regions. The charity aims at making Cheshire Better by connecting local philanthropists with charitable causes. Bentley Motors is supporting the charity through its Bentley Fund.
Bentley Chairman and Chief Executive, Dr Wolfgang Schreiber said, “It was an honour for Bentley to welcome His Royal Highness, the Earl of Wessex. We are very proud of our production facility in Crewe and even more proud of the thousands of highly skilled colleagues who work here.
