Euro-spec i20 family will soon be powered by a new 1.0-litre GDI turbo petrol motor.

The Euro-spec Hyundai i20 Active soft crossover and the Santa Fe facelift have been unveiled through images ahead the duo’s showcase at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show which starts on September 15 (media day). The i20 Active made its world debut in India earlier this year.

Details are scarce as of now but the European version of the car will be made at the automaker’s manufacturing plant in Turkey where its hatchback sibling is also made. Visually, the Euro-spec i20 Active is identical to its Indian counter part with silver skid plates, a rugged bumper with circular fog lights, projector headlamps with LED DRL elements, blacked out C-pillar, roof racks, black lower body cladding, rear fog lights and an exclusive alloy wheel design.

Euro-spec i20 Active gets touchscreen AVN which was just introduced in India-spec model.

The hatchback with rough road package will be powered by a new 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged GDI petrol motor which is available in two states of tune – 100 PS and 120 PS. This motor will also go under the hoods of other i20 variants in Europe.

Euro-spec Hyundai i20 Active is expected to go on sale in the continent early next year. Also coming to Frankfurt is the Euro-spec Santa Fe facelift which receives minor styling tweaks and added assistance systems such as Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Detection, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Smart Cruise Control, Lane Change Assist and High Beam Assist.
