The launch of Ferrari California T marks the brand’s commencement of Indian operations. The hard top convertible supercar would set you back by a whopping INR 3.45 cr (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Bookings for all the models were opened a few months ago.
The updated California T is powered by a front-mounted turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 engine which offers 49% more torque and 15% more fuel efficiency. Mated to a 7-speed transmission with paddle shifters, the motor pumps out 572 PS (412 KW) and 755 Nm of torque.
The motor is capable of catapulting the aerodynamic supercar form 0-100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds before hitting a top whack of 316 kmph. Under European driving cycle, California T returns a mileage of 9.5 kmpl.The car’s hard top can be retracted by a touch of a button in 14 seconds.
The highly talented engineers from Maranello has managed to achieve a light kerb weight of 1,625 kg with a front:rear weight distribution ratio of 47:53. The car is packed with features such as F1-Trac traction control system, ESP 8.0, carbon ceramic brakes with ABS (100-0 kph in 34 metres) and many more.
Inside, the top quality interior offers 2+2 seating configuration with sports seats upfront. The typical Ferrari steering wheel complete with manettino dials, a comprehensive instrument console with a color display and a 6.5-inch touchscreen on the centre console are the highlights.
