Making global debut in November last year, at the Dubai International Motor Show, the new Fiat Fullback has now made European public motor show debut at the ongoing 2016 Geneva Motor Show. It is basically a rebadged Mitsubishi LS200.
Fiat Fullback front wears a prominent blacked out grille. 20-inch alloy wheels are treated with diamond black inserts on the spokes. Tinted Bi-Xenon headlights are used upfront. Fiat Fullback pickup truck also uses extended fender flares and a sports bar. Tinted taillights are in use.
On the inside, the concept is fitted with leather seats and anodized copper accents. There’s a gloss black trim, new floor mats, and infotainment system with GPS navigation. The 2.4-litre turbo diesel unit is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission to return either 150 hp or 180 hp, depending on the tune. Petrol engine options are also on offer. Fiat Fullback uses an all-wheel-drive system and an electronic rear differential.
It will be available in single cab, double cab, extended cab or cab chassis form depending on the market it is being sold in. Dimensions stand at 5,155 mm to 5,285 mm length, 1,815 mm wide, 1,780 mm tall and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
The Fullback name alludes to the all important rugby position and signifies the car’s defensive and offensive capability, an all-rounder in character. To be sold in EMEA region, sales are to commence by mid-2016.
