In an attempt to create a buzz around the obsolete Linea, Fiat of Brazil has come up with a new special edition. Called as the Fiat Linea Blackmotion, the special edition model is based on the Essence 1.8-litre variant.
Unsurprisingly, the special edition variant is all about cosmetic enhancements and additional equipment. The Linea Blackmotion can be distinguished form the regular variant by means of a blackened grille borders, Onyx black wing mirror caps, 17-inch black alloy wheels, body colored door handles and ‘Blackmotion’ badges on the front doors.
Inside, the Linea Blackmotion gets all-black color with Onyx back accents for centre console and gear lever. The dashboard surfaces get new textures for enhanced perceived quality. The special edition version also offers ambient lighting and machined pedals.
Coming to the equipment, the sedan gets a 5-inch U-Connect touchscreen multimedia infotainment system with navigation, rear parking camera with sensors and partial leather upholstery for the seats.
The 1.8-litre flex fuel engine is mated either to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a Dualogic Plus AMT. Power and torque outputs stand at 132 PS and 185.2 Nm respectively.
Fiat Linea has been replaced by the Tipo (Egea) sedan in the EMEA region. Brazil and India are likely to hang on to the aging sedan a little longer than the rest of the world.
