The much talked about Fiat Mobi budget hatchback has been launched in Brazil at a starting price of 31,900 reals (around INR 6.08 lakhs). The Mobi is available in six variants – Easy, Easy on, Like, Like on, Way and Way On. The fully loaded Way On trim is priced at 43,800 reals (INR 8.35 lakhs).
To recap, the Mobi replaces the Uno Vivace to mount a better assault on the incoming Renault Kwid. The new Fiat small retains the regular Uno’s (will continue to be sold) shape but the front and rear fascias are all new. The interior too has a fresh appeal to it.
The base Easy variant makes do without power steering or AC to arrive at an attractive starting price. The top-of-the-line Way On features crossover-like exterior design elements, fog lamps, alloy wheels, plastic wheel arch cladding, roof rails, audio system and so on.
Power comes from a 1.0-litre flex-fuel engine which develops 77 PS while running on ethanol and 75 PS while using petrol. A 5-speed manual gearbox drives the front wheels.
The Renault Kwid which is currently under test in Brazil is expected to make its debut in the country at the Sao Paulo Motor Show which is scheduled to take place in November.
