Hyundai Creta Production Starts – Variants and Features

The new Hyundai Creta will receive a 1.5 liter petrol, 1.5 liter VGT diesel and 1.4 liter Turbo GDI petrol engine lineup

The all new Hyundai Creta displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo will launch in India on 17th March. Ahead of that, official production has started at company plant today. Its five variants of E, EX, S, SX will see some feature updates. The new Creta will get 3 BS6 compliant engine options. The 1.5 liter petrol, 1.5 liter VGT diesel and 1.4 liter Turbo GDI petrol are mated to manual and automatic transmission options.

The Creta E variant will receive exterior and interior updates. These will include dual projector headlamps, a black radiator grille, LED tail lamps, body colored rear spoiler, front and rear skid plates and silver garnish on B and C Pillars. The interiors will get a black and grey color scheme with a D cut flat bottom steering wheel, height adjustable driver seat, 3.5” mono TFT multi information display, 12V power outlet, rear AC vents and a cooled glove box. The new Hyundai Creta gets safety equipment that includes dual airbags, rear parking sensors, high speed alert, front occupant seatbelt reminder and impact sensing auto door lock. It also gets central and remote locking, power windows, adjustable wing mirrors and ABS and EBD as standard.

First Hyundai Creta 2020

The Hyundai Creta EX variant gets all the features seen in the base time along with a shark fin antenna, 8” touchscreen infotainment system with AM/FM, Bluetooth, i-Blue audio remote app and front USB charger, voice recognition, smartphone connectivity and steering mounted controls. It also receives an Arkamys sound system with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters.

The S variant on the new Hyundai Creta sits on 16” steel wheels and receives fog lamps in the front and silver roof rails. Its interiors get cloth upholstery with metal finish on doors and leather wrapped gear knob. Updated safety equipment includes rear parking camera, driver rear view display, automatic climate control, cruise control and keyless entry with push button start. It also receives auto light control and rear wiper and washer over the other two lower trims.

Hyundai Creta SX sits on 17” alloy wheels and gets a panoramic sunroof, puddle lamps, LED DRLs and chrome handles. The interiors see some advanced equipment with leather wrapped steering wheel, ambient lighting, adjustable rear seat headrests, wireless charger, electric folding wing mirrors and seats in a 60:40 rear seat arrangement. The top of the line of SX(O) gets a total of 6 airbags and electric parking brake with auto hold function among its safety updates. It also receives a 7” instrument cluster and 8 speaker Bose sound system, powered driver seat and remote engine start/stop.

Colour options on the 2020 Hyundai Creta will see an array of 10 colors such as Mulberry Red, Galaxy Blue, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Deep Forest, Phantom Black, Polar White and Lava Orange with the latter two also seen with a contrasting black roof.

The new Hyundai Creta will continue to rival the Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Renault Captur, Renault Duster and Nissan Kicks with prices slated to be in the Rs.10-17 lakh price range. Images are credit to Neelesh Bajaj and Mr Spy King on Instagram.
