Ford India has launched this service for all their customers in select cities – At no additional cost
In another initiative that seeks to benefit its customers as well as help fight the spread of Covid-19, Ford has launched doorstep servicing of its cars and SUVs. This service is being offered as part of the ‘Dial-a-Ford‘ service platform.
Doorstep servicing will be hugely beneficial for customers, as taking the car and getting it serviced at the service station has always been a big hassle. Things have become even more challenging due to the current circumstances, as there’s always a risk of infection when going out.
What’s offered in Ford’s doorstep service
As the full range of equipment can’t be transported to the customer’s location, Ford’s doorstep service will cover only regular maintenance and small repairs. For full range of servicing such as washing, dent repairs, painting, major repairs, etc., customers can choose Ford’s Pick-up & Drop facility.
This is also available under Dial-a-Ford platform. In Pick & Drop facility, a Ford technician takes the car from the owner’s location and returns it after carrying out the required maintenance and repairs at the service centre.
All services under Dial-a-Ford are managed via a central customer care helpline. Customers can call this helpline number and schedule a doorstep service. They can request any other services that they need. People looking to buy a Ford car can also access Dial-a-Ford to book a home demo and test drive. After completing the paperwork and making an online payment, the brand new Ford car is home delivered to the customer.
As of now, Ford’s doorstep servicing is available in select cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmadabad, Aurangabad, Cochin, Bhubaneswar, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Trivandrum, Thane and Noida. It is expected that more cities will be added to this list in the future.
To ensure proper safety, Ford’s executives and technicians on home visits wear gloves and masks while interacting with customers. The staff is trained to maintain social distancing and follow mandated sanitization norms. In case of vehicle delivery, all critical external and internal touch points are sanitized including the car keys. Availability of online payment options also helps minimize physical contact.
Just like Ford, other carmakers are also offering a range of home based services to their customers. Companies like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Toyota, Tata Motors, etc., have launched dedicated platforms to provide doorstep services. While Covid-19 pandemic has made doorstep services a necessity, it is likely that these services will be continued even after the infection peters out.
