Already spied testing in India, EcoSport facelift will receive both styling and mechanical changes. Ford EcoSport facelift for India will continue to sport external spare wheel, unlike its European counterpart, where it is now offered as option.
Apart from this, there will be minor changes in headlamp and lower skid plate design. The side profile is also revised with new alloy wheel design and larger 17” alloy wheels. Interior updates include a 4” color display with SYNC entertainment system.
The new Ford EcoSport will receive a number of safety features such as reverse parking camera, satellite navigation, power window buttons, hand brake lever besides driver side and dual airbags. The Titanium+ variant will have a total of 6 airbags.
Interiors of new Ford EcoSportEngine specifications on board Ford EcoSport facelift will include the same 1.5 liter TDCi diesel engine that also powers Ford Figo and Aspire. This engine is capable of 100 PS power and 215 Nm torque and claims ARAI fuel efficiency at 25.83 kmpl (on board the Figo twins). The Ford EcoSport also receives a 1.0 liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine and 1.5 liter Ti-VCT petrol engine mated to a five speed manual and 6 speed Powershift dual clutch transmission respectively.
Competition to the new Ford EcoSport will come from various quarters such as the recently introduced Mahindra TUV300 and Hyundai Creta. It is also estimated that the company will not be revising prices of the facelift which means that the Ford EcoSport will continue to have a base price of around INR 6.75 lakhs.
