The Ford Figo Aspire sales have definitely given a huge reason for the automaker to cheer. The first ever product to roll out of the brand new Sanand manufacturing plant in Gujarat had clocked sales of 15,000 units in the August to October 2015 period.
That’s an impressive average of 5,000 units per month. Talking to The Hindu BusinessLine, Rahul Gautam, Vice President – Marketing, Ford India, said that October witnessed a sharp rise in the company’s overall sales at 10,008 units compared to 6,723 units during the same month last year. The Figo Aspire was no doubt the growth driver. November being the festive month, the compact sedan is expected to continue its strong sales momentum.
The official said that the company is looking at more growth from the tier-2 and 3 markets and hence is actively expanding its customer touch points and parts distribution operations. Improved road infrastructure and improved income levels in smaller towns are adding to demand. As of now, Ford India has 352 outlets across 189 cities.
