Ford India marks a milestone today, its One-Millionth customer in the country. Ford India President and MD, Anurag Mehrotra attended the vehicle handover to Nikhil Kakkar from New Delhi.

With operations in India having started in 1998, Ford has invested over US $2 billion here. The company endeavours to being a sustainable and profitable business in India. For those reminiscing, the first images of Ford in India that one can remember are that of the Ikon. Over time, Ford has embraced more segments in the market here.
Ford confirmed its 1 million domestic wholesale milestone at the start of the month. For June 2018, Ford India reported combined (domestic wholesales and exports) sales of 18,830 vehicles, down 9.59 percent from 20,828 vehicles sold in June 2017. Domestic sales were up 37 percent to 8,444 units, up from 6,149 units in June 2017.
The company’s top selling Ford Ecosport lost out to Tata Nexon by a small margin through the April – June 2018 quarter. Freestyle is also a volume model for the company. And there’s the Endeavour and Mustang too in the premium offering. The product range includes powertrains 1L EcoBoost to its 5L V8 Engine. In catering to customers, Ford India currently operates through 465 sales and service outlets.
