The iconic Ford Mustang made India debut in January this year. Now, it has been showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show where it is seen alongside the convertible variant with EcoBoost V6 engine.
New Ford Mustang GT gets power from a 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 that delivers 435 hp, and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Those are improved numbers from the previous gen. The engine maximizes power generation through large intake and exhaust valves. Having been finetuned, the 5.0L exhaust delivers a powerful acoustic sound with increased lower-frequency sound modulation.
Voice-activated Navigation System comes with five-year SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link subscription. The latter takes care of Global Positioning System (GPS) with 3D mapping. Both systems offer traffic information, weather details, gas station locations and prices, sports updates, and theatre locations with film listings and show times.
The six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters enable overriding automatic operation to enjoy a manual feel with control over gear selection on both the Mustang V6, and Mustang GT Premium Fastback.
Track Apps feature Electronic Line-Lock for front brake locking when the car is in gear to warm rear tyres, and Launch control that integrates brakes, traction control and powertrain control for a consistent start. Performance metrics can be viewed on the 4.2-inch message centre in the instrument cluster.
Mustang V6 Convertible sports 17-inch Sparkle Silver painted aluminum wheels as standard feature. High-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps with signature lighting are standard on all Mustang variants.
Electronic Line-Lock and Launch control are accessible through a steering wheel-mounted five-way button. The compatible screen features six menu options. Lateral and longitudinal g-force, acceleration times, top speed, saved results, and brake performance can be viewed among other things.
