Helmet with AC launched to beat the summer heat – Price approx. Rs 40k

Feher ACH-1 AC helmets are the answer to every motorcycle riders dream of a comfortable ride in hot weather conditions. On sale in the US, these air conditioned helmets use Feher’s patented thermoelectric cooling technology.

The helmets are DOT and ECE 22.05 certified and come in at a price of $ 549.99 (Rs 40,000 + GST + import tax). Pricing is on par with other high end helmets from Arai, Shoei and AGV.

Feher ACG-1 helmets are made out of fiberglass. They weigh 1,450 grams and uses thermoelectric technology that evenly distributes filtered and cooled air through the interior of the helmet. Fitted with Tubular Space Fabric allows for consistent cooling when riding.

The company claims that temperature variance will be more significant at higher temperatures and between 10-15 degrees cooler than ambient temperatures. The technology used in these helmets for its cooling system is the same that is used for car seats and is seen in cars built by Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Ferrari, Infiniti, Lexus and General Motors.

The helmets are not wireless. They are powered by the vehicle battery and comes with a harness to connect the helmet to the battery and a quick disconnect cord to connect the helmet to the battery along with an AC power unit. Feher advises that as 3,000 mAh battery pack be used to power the helmet for two hours, a 6,000 mAh battery would power it for four hours while there is also a 12,000 mAh unit that would work for six hours.

Feher air conditioned helmets are offered in various sizes of small, medium, large and extra large and in color options of Gun Metal, Pearl White, Gloss Black, Matte Black and Silver. It is not on sale in India, but one can order it from the official site and get it shipped to any address in India.
