Hero Destini 125 launch price Rs 55k, Rs 58k – Rivals Honda Activa, Suzuki Burgman

Hero MotoCorp plans to increase its market share in the automatic scooter segment with the newly launched Destini 125 scooter in India. It was showcased as the Hero Duet at the 2018 Auto Expo earlier this year but renamed as Destini 125 at launch. Price is affordable at Rs 54,650 for the base LX variant and Rs 57,500 for the top VX variant. It will compete with the Honda Activa 125, Honda Grazia, and Suzuki Burgman 125 in India.

Hero Destini 125 scooter is the first 125cc model in the company lineup and has been designed at the Hero MotoCorp Center for Innovation and Technology in Jaipur. The new Destini 125 sports a new front end with chrome accents seen on front apron and side panels enhancing its premium appeal.

It is also for the first time that the company has introduced Hero’s i3S – idle-start-stop-system on a scooter. Under this system, the engine turns off automatically when idle for more than 5 seconds.

Other features of Hero Destini include a semi digital instrument cluster offering side stand indicator, service indicator and other readouts. Hero Destini also receives pass switch, mobile charging port and a boot light. Optional features include a front disc brake, integrated braking system and external fuel filling facility.

Dimensions of the Hero Destini 125 stand at 1,809mm length, 1,154mm width and 729mm height. It sits on a 1,245mm wheelbase and gets ground clearance of 155mm while kerb weight is at 111.5 kgs. Hero Destini 125 is powered by a 125 cc, single cylinder, air cooled engine offering 8.7 bhp power at 6,750 rpm and 10.2 Nm torque at 5,000 rpm.

It gets telescopic front forks and single hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear while braking is via drum brakes at the front and rear. Offered in color options of Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black, and Pearl Silver White, the Hero Destini 125 is being marketed as a family oriented scooter in India while it is positioned as the company’s flagship product.
