Hero Duet 110 cc BSIII scooter being offered at flat discount of INR 12,500

Supreme Court of India upheld the ban on sale of BSIII two wheelers from 1st April 2017. This has resulted in dealers who had stocks of BSIII scooters and motorcycles.

The Hero Duet, one of the two derivatives of Hero Motocorp’s first homegrown platform, was launched in India back in 2015 with a BSIII compliant engine.

But with govt of India banning sale of BSIII compliant two wheelers from 1st April 2017, Hero dealers across India who had accumulated stocks of BSIII Hero Duet scooter, are now selling the same at a flat discount of INR 12,500 on the on road price.


As far as styling goes, the Duet is sufficiently differentiated from its sibling with chrome ‘V’ ornament of the apron, turn indicators that sandwich the headlamp. body colored inserts on the mirror caps, a neat engine cover with 3D logo, silver strips and tiny vents. A long seat and a prominent grab rail round off the design. The scooter has an all-metal body.

Power comes from the same 110.9 cc single-cylinder air-cooled unit that also powers the Maestro Edge. The motor produces 8.43 PS at 8,000 rpm and 8.3 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm when mated to a CVT. Hero Duet comes with 5 year warranty.

The variant lineup and equipment level are also almost similar to the Maestro Edge. The scooter offers semi-digital instrument console, tubeless tyres, mobile charging port, Integrated braking, external fuel filler cap, illuminated underseat compartment, combination lock, etc.

The vehicle is available in Panther Black Metallic, Nature Green Metallic, Matt Vernier Grey, Grace Grey Metallic, Candy Blazing Red and Pearl Silver White color options. It measures 1,830 mm in length, 725 mm in width, 1,140 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1240 mm (VX variant has a 5 mm longer wheelbase). It weighs 116 kg.
