The platform and EV technology were derived from readily available resources to cut time and cost.

The Hero Duet E pure electric scooter concept has made its global premiere at the 2016 Hero Duet E. We present you the live images and an official video of the green scooter.

Hero has chosen the existing Duet series production scooter as a base to keep the cost in check as well as avoid long product development cycle. The company has stated that it was derived from the existing technology, hinting that the motor and battery pack are closely related to those of the Leap electric scooter concept.

The scooter is powered by a 5 KW/14 Nm electric motor with a claimed 0-60 kmph time of 6.5 seconds. On a full charge, it can travel up to 65 km.

The two wheeler giant has not revealed any production plans for the Duet E but considering that the Indian government is keen on promoting green vehicles, we could see the zero emissions urban runabout making it to the showrooms in the near future.

Visually, the Hero Duet E differentiates itself from the regular petrol powered variant by means of a black panel on the front apron, white livery and green decals. The fuel filler cap on the tailpiece is replaced by the charging socket.

Hero Motocorp’s award winning two wheeler pavilion at the 2016 Auto Expo also hosted the Xtreme 200 S, HX250 and XF3R design concept.
