Hero X-Pulse 200 showcased at Auto Expo 2018 – Launch later this year

The Hero X-Pulse 200 which made its world premiere in the form of a concept at last year’s EICMA has resurfaced in public, this time slightly closer to production, at the Auto Expo 2018. While Hero revealed absolutely nothing about the motorcycle during its world premiere, the company has confirmed now that the compact on-off roader will be powered by a 200 cc engine.

The motor is tuned to deliver a healthy 18.4 PS and 17.1 Nm of torque. The lack of punch was the primary concern that spelled doom to the original Impulse 150 and Hero seems to have addressed the issue well this time.

The X-Pulse 200’s impressive features list includes first-in-class Turn-by-Turn navigation (smartphone connectivity through the fully digital instrument console), full LED headlamp, luggage rack, knuckle guards, wind shield, specially tuned ABS for dual purpose riding, etc.

The adventure motorcycle is underpinned by a diamond frame made of high tensile steel. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic front fork (with 190 mm stroke) and a 10-step adjustable monoshock rear suspension (with 170 mm wheel travel).

The 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels are shod with dual purpose tyres. With an up-swept exhaust canister to improve water wading capability, the Hero X-Pulse 200 means business and targets hardcore adventure enthusiasts who are on a budget.

Hero hasn’t revealed the time frame for the launch but we expect the X-Pulse 200 to be ready for the market sometime later this year.
