Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recently launched Limited Edition model of its bestselling scooter Activa 5G, offering a range of cosmetic upgrades and new utilities. Honda’s move is in line with prevailing market trends wherein automakers are deploying innovative strategies to increase sales. Over the last few months, Honda has registered huge decline in sales, especially of their bese selling product – the Activa.
The launch of this limited edition variant is to bring a boost to Activa sales. This is also the reason why the price increase of Activa Limited Edition is only Rs 400, despite of coming in with so many new features.
Honda Activa 5G Limited Edition shares the same platform as the existing model, but comes with several exterior updates that make it a lot trendier. One of the key changes is two new dual-tone colour schemes – Pearl Precious White + Matte Selene Silver and Strontium Silver Metallic + Pearl Igneous Black. At the front, limited edition Activa 5G features LED position lamp and headlamp, which significantly enhance its looks. With their bright light, LED headlamp and position lamp also improve safety during night rides.
Other features that are evident on Activa 5G limited edition include elegant chrome garnish, 4-in-1 lock with seat opening switch, Limited Edition badging on front and sides, front and rear hook, service due meter on the instrument console, chrome metal muffler cover, stylish graphics, and premium looking brown seat. Honda has also chosen a blacked-out theme for the limited edition, which is evident in blacked-out rear view mirrors, brake levers, suspension, wheels, exhaust and engine. These elements provide a sportier look to the scooter.
Choice of engine for Honda Activa 5G limited edition is the same as earlier, a 109 cc, fan cooled, 4 stroke, SI engine that generates max power of 8 bhp @ 7500 rpm and max torque of 9 Nm @ 5500 rpm. Activa utilizes under bone frame construction and comes with spring loaded hydraulic type suspension at both front and rear. Braking duties are performed by 130 mm drum brakes at front and rear. CBS is offered as standard.
Honda Activa 5G limited edition is offered in two variants, Standard (STD) and Deluxe (DLX). These are priced at Rs 55,032 and Rs 56,897 (ex-sh) respectively, which is slightly higher than the price of existing models.
