To be presented in 6 color options of Passion Red Pearl, Taffeta White, Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Misty Green Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic, Honda BR-V will be offered in petrol and diesel engine options.
The compact SUV was showcased at the Gaikinda Indonesia International Auto Show in August 2015 and will be launched in Indonesia prior to its launch in India. To be manufactured at Honda Prospect Motor’s Karawang, West Java plant for Indonesia, the Honda BR-V will be launched by Feb 2016. In India, it is expected to make debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Here, it will be produced at the company’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan from April 2016.
Honda-BR-V-Misty-GreenHonda BR-V measures 4,455 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,660 mm while ground clearance stands at 200 mm. To rival Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Mahindra XUV500, the seven seater Honda BR-V will be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine option.
The diesel engine could be in the form of much awaited 1.6 liter i-DTEC EarthDreams engine, while the petrol will be the same 1.5 liter unit which does duty on the City. Transmission options in India will be in the form of manual and CVT.
Sitting on 16” alloy wheels, Honda BR-V is a sporty and muscular looking SUV. Exterior features include black projector headlamps, plastic body cladding, roof rails, skid plates and LED tail lamps. Interiors will be seen with multi function display and rear air conditioning while dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist form a part of its safety features
In Indonesia, Honda BR-V will be offered in three variants (only 1.5 liter petrol engine) with pricing from Rp. 230 million to Rp. 265 million (INR 10.83 lakhs to INR 12.48 lakhs).
