Honda BR-V dashboard design is different from Mobilio

Honda BR-V (Bold Runabout vehicle) compact crossover has been leaked just ahead of its world premiere at Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2015 in Jakarta. The exterior images surfaced yesterday, and today we present you the dashboard images.

Dashboards of Amaze and Mobilio were widely criticized for borrowing their design form smaller Brio hatchback but BR-V, despite sharing its underpinning with the aforementioned cars, settles for a refreshingly new design and layout. Inspiration comes from City and Jazz rather than Amaze and Mobilio. The steering wheel however has a resemblance to its platform siblings.

The black dashboard features piano black centre console and silver accents on AC vents, steeering wheel and on the panel just above the glove box. The instrument panel houses three dials with chrome highlights. Fully loaded variant pictured here sports a touchscreen infotainment system and an automatic transmission.

Rear fascia is remarkably similar to that of China-spec XR-V.

Exterior design is inspired by the Vision XS-1 concept which was showcased at the Auto Expo in New Delhi last year. Having said that, the rear fascia of the car with connected taillights bear striking resemblance to that of Chinese Honda XR-V.

Honda BR-V will derive its powertrain from Mobilio. The petrol engine is a 118 PS 1.5-litre unit while the diesel engine of choice is a 100 PS 1.5-litre i-DTEC motor.

Honda India is expected to launch debut BR-V in India at Auto Expo 2016 in February. The car will take on the likes of Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross and Nissan Terrano. Expect a price range of INR 8.5 – 12 lakhs (ex-showroom).
