Launched in India earlier this year, the new Honda BR-V crossover was launched in the Philippines today. On display at the ongoing 2016 Philippine International Motor Show, new Honda BR-V will be available in two variants in the country, both with the same engine and transmission option.
The base variant of Honda BR-V on offer is 1.5 S CVT and it is priced from PhP 1,000,000 (INR 14 lakh), while the top of the line variant is a V CVT Navi which is priced from PhP 1,150,000 (INR 16.1 lakh).
In India, the BR-V is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which is paired either with a 6-MT or a CVT to produce 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque. The diesel engine of choice is the 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit which generates 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque via 6 MT. Philippine will only get the 1.5 liter petrol variant with CVT.
The primary advantage that the Honda BR-V has over its rivals is the third row of seats. The car promises comfortable seating for all seven passengers over the three rows, something which is not offered by any other car in the price segment.
Standard features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD (only in diesel model), projector headlamps, touch sensitive AC control panel, ABS, EBD, Hill Assist, speed sensing door locks, stability control, engine start stop, high ground clearance, and so on.
