Priced in the range of INR 7.60 lakh to 11.91 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi; The new Honda City is the best selling car in the segment currently. Today, Honda Cars India announced to recall 3,879 units of CVT.
Honda City CVT is available in two trims – SV and VX. Price of these trims ranges from INR 9.89 lakh to INR 11.50 lakh. Launched in January 2014, the reason Honda has recalled the said variants of the City CVT is to update a control software.
As per Honda Cars India, this recall is part of Honda’s recall campaign in several regions globally. The CVT control software will be updated to optimize the Hydraulic Pressure applied to the CVT.
The recall and updating exercise will be carried out in the coming days. Owners of affected cars will be notified via email. If you too have purchased City CVT which was manufactured in the said period, you can contact nearby Honda dealership and find out more details.
The customers can also check whether their car is covered under this campaign by submitting their 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite which has been created on the company’s website.
Honda says that the software update will be carried out free of cost, and not a single penny will be charged to the owners of affected cars. The latest recall is the third from Honda Cars India this year.
