The air over the new Honda Jazz launch is now cleared. Honda Car India have officially shared images which confirm that the launch is scheduled in July 2015. Though they have not revealed any dates, we expect the launch date to be sometime in the first half of July 2015.
The premium hatchback makes its re-entry into the country after being removed from the company lineup in 2013. This was done because the company was losing money on each car sold, thanks to low level of localization. This time round, the company is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that 2015 Honda Jazz is a hot seller. Meaning, the localization levels are more than 90%, which will not only keep the price competitive, but will also return healthy profit to the company.
Honda Jazz has already entered production at the company plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan while official bookings will open in the next few days.
Teased in a recent video and spied on test on a number of occasions, 2015 Honda Jazz will compete with Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20 once launched. It will be powered by a 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol engine that is also seen on the Honda Amaze and Brio which can generate 88PS power and 110 Nm torque. This engine option will be offered in two choices – five speed manual or a CVT gearbox. A 1.5 liter i-DTEC engine offering 100 PS power and 200 Nm torque will also be on offer with a five speed manual transmission.

On board features of the new Jazz will include a dashboard similar to that seen on Honda City. It will also receive automatic climate control, steering mounted audio and phone controls and touchscreen infotainment and navigation system. Where safety features are concerned, the 2015 Honda Jazz will be seen with reverse camera, folding wing mirrors and dual front airbags along with ABS and EBD.
2015 Honda Jazz could be priced in an INR 5.5-8 lakh bracket.
