Hyundai India has officially unveiled the Aura sedan last month at a media-only event. But the interiors were not revealed.
All set to be launched next week, the all new Hyundai Aura sub 4 meter sedan has now been spied while it was heading to a dealership. Images are credit to automotive enthusiast Hemanth. Just like the exteriors, the interiors of Hyundai Aura are equally stylish. Basically, they are similar to that of the Grand i10 NIOS, which was launched in August last year.
Bookings for the new Hyundai Aura have opened at a down payment of Rs 21,000 at the Hyundai website and company dealerships even as prices will be revealed on January 21, 2020. The new Aura sedan will be presented in 12 variants and in 4 diesel, 7 petrol and 1 turbo petrol engine options. The Hyundai Aura sedan will be the first car in its segment to sport 1.0 Kappa BS6 Turbo GDI petrol and 1.2 BS6 ECOTORQ diesel engines.
Hyundai Aura will come in with four trims – E, S, SX and SX(O). Strikingly similar to the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS, the Aura will receive some changes in the form of twin boomerang shaped LED DRLs and massive wheel arches to enhance its sporty appeal. It will also get LED tail lamps with a three dimensional outer lens, trunk lid accents in chrome and a glossy wrap.
Colour options will include red, white, silver, grey, blue and brown colours. The 1.0 liter Turbo GDI MT (SX+), however, will be available only in red, white and silver colour options. The 1.2 liter MT CNG (S) variant will be offered exclusively in white, silver, grey and brown colours while 1.2 liter MT Kappa (E) will be available in white and grey colours.
Interiors will sport several updates with a 5.3” digital speedometer and multi information display along with an 8” touchscreen infotainment system. It will be compatible with Apple Carplay as well as Android Auto. There is also wireless charging on offer.
Engine specifications on the Hyundai Aura also get detailed with each of these being BS6 compliant right at the outset. The 1.2 liter petrol engine will make 82 bhp power and 114 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual and AMT transmission. The 1 liter turbo will be capable of 99 bhp power and 172 Nm torque mated exclusively to a 5 speed manual transmission. Diesel engine options include a 1.2 liter engine offering 74 bhp power and 190 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual and AMT.
Price of the new Aura sedan is expected to be higher than the Hyundai Xcent which is priced between Rs.5.81-8.75 lakhs. The new Hyundai Aura compact sedan enters a crowded segment to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor and the Ford Aspire. Post launch of Aura, the Xcent will continue to be on sale for fleet operators.
