Hyundai has introduced a limited edition variant of its entry D-Segment sedan in Malaysia. The car gets sporty cosmetic enhancements.

Hyundai Elantra Sport Edition for Malaysia is priced at RM 91,928 (around INR 15.50 lakhs), on-road. The sedan is available in Creamy White and Phantom Back exterior color options.

Special edition gets body kits and contrasting decals.

Exclusive visual elements include sporty bumpers and skirts with contrast red accents, decals on the sides with ‘Limited Edition’ bar code with numbers ranging from 1 to 999, symbolizing the number of units to be sold, and a black rear diffuser with twin tail pipes.

Inside, Elantra Sport Edition is offered with a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and DVD playback capability (optional reverse parking camera at an additional cost of RM 300).

The model is limited to 999 units.

Based on the entry level Elegance 1.6L variant, Elantra Sport Edition misses out on leather seats and foglights. It also makes do with 16-inch alloy wheels instead of 1.8L variant’s 17-inchers.

The 1.6-litre Gamma petrol motor generates 130 PS and 157 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai Elantra Sport Edition also gets a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Hyundai Elantra facelift was launched in India earlier this year incorporating minor styling revisions. Mechanically, not much has changed.

In India, the sedan is available with a 147 bhp 1.8-litre petrol engine and a 126 bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine (same as the one in Hyundai Creta). Both motors can be had either with a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission.
