Overdrive reports that the Hyundai Eon facelift is slated to make its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 which is set to commence on February 3. The show would also witness the world premiere of a sub-4m Hyundai SUV but it remains to be seen if it will be a concept or a near-production model.
The South Korean automaker will also unveil the India-spec new Elantra D-Segment sedan and Tucson premium crossover SUV. There could be a N performance car on display as well.
The Hyundai Eon facelift is expected to feature minor styling tweaks inside out along with a few additional types of equipment. The budget hatchback would retain its 800 cc and 1.0-liter petrol engines. The launch is expected in mid-2016.
Not much is known about the sub-4m SUV at the moment but it’s expected to derive its platform and powertrain from the Elite i20. The existing 1.2-liter Kappa2 petrol motor and 1.4-liter diesel motors are the viable candidates to propel Hyundai’s Ford EcoSport rival.
The new Tucson with its striking design language would be positioned between the immensely popular Creta and flagship Santa Fe. The original Tucson didn’t quite make its mark in the market but given that India now receives premium crossovers with wide open hands, it would help to have a comprehensive lineup of SUVs catering to every price segment.
The all-new Elantra with a new design and updated equipment package is expected to succeed the current model in India sometime towards the end of 2016 or early 2017.
