Hyundai Santro seats, steering, boot space leaked – Looks bigger than Renault Kwid

The comeback of the Hyundai Santro has been creating some buzz in the automotive sector ahead of its launch on 23rd October. First batch of cars have now stared getting dispatched to dealers across India. Thanks to this, a new leaked video reveals the Santro’s steering wheel, seats, dashboard and boot space in detail.

The new Hyundai Santro will be available in five variants – Dlite, Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta. Each of these variants will be seen in multiple color options. Prices are expected to range from Rs 3.87 lakhs for the entry level Dlite petrol trim going up to Rs 5.35 lakhs for the top of the range Asta diesel.

Along with the petrol manual option, there is also petrol AMT and CNG manual option on offer. The AMT option, offered on the Magna and Sportz trims could be priced at Rs 4.57 lakhs and Rs 5.20 lakhs respectively. At these price tags, the Santro will compete directly with Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid in the entry level segment while the top end variants will compete with the Maruti WagonR.

The tall boy Hyundai Santro will get LED DRLs in the front and LED tail lamps at the rear. Featuring fluidic design, a sculpted rear door, rear window wipers, a cascading grille and higher set fog lamps. The Santro will sit on larger 14” wheels and interiors will get a new 6.5” touchscreen infotainment system with driver side airbags and ABS offered as standard across all variants. Engine specifications of the soon to be launched Hyundai Santro also gets detailed. It will be powered by a 1.1 liter Epsilon engine offering 68 bhp peak power and 99 Nm peak torque. Fuel efficiency is pegged for 20.3 kmpl. This time round, Hyundai is also offering a company fitted CNG option on the new Santro, which will be a segment first feature with an 8 kg fuel tank. CNG powered engine will offer 59 PS power and 84 Nm torque. The engine will comply with BNVSAP norms coming into effect from April 2019.

Bookings have already opened for the new Hyundai Santro with first 50,000 buyers being offered introductory prices. These online bookings will continue till October 22 while launch is scheduled for October 23, 2018. Post the first 50k buyers, prices will be increased.
