Hyundai Venue global unveil is going to be held at New York International Auto Show 2019 with press days scheduled for 17th and 18th of the month. Hyundai has now released its first design sketch of the new Hyundai Venue SUV, symbolising a 3rd SPACE that’s trendy, unique, stylish and perfect and brings together ‘Creative Thinking Covering All The Necessities’.

As per the company, Hyundai Venue is your ‘the place to be’, en route to any destination, whether it be workplace activities or weekend fun to cater to lifestyles with a plenitude of features revolving around safety, versatility and connectivity. Folks at Hyundai have lots to cheer, as their last big launch Santro has already grabbed the third spot, registering sales of 8,280 units in March. The Korean carmaker has targeted Hyundai Venue sales of around 7k-8k units per month, which, if achieved, will make Venue the second bestselling vehicle in compact SUV segment. Maruti Suzuki Brezza is currently the leader in this segment, averaging sales of 13k-14k per month.

It will be the first in the country to offer Connected Car technology, which is being referred to as Hyundai BlueLink. Powered by an embedded eSIM, this technology will allow users to track location of their car in real-time and get various alerts and notifications such as speed alert, idle alert, crash alert, etc. Users can also lock/unlock doors and stop/start engine from a remote location. Features like geo fencing, vehicle immobilization and vehicle theft tracking are also part of the package.

Venue has snazzy exteriors, which are derived from other Hyundai cars such as Kona and Santa Fe. Key features include cascading hexagonal grille, dual function LED DRLs above the headlights, flared wheel arches and diamond cut alloy wheels. Interiors have a premium look and feel and come with advanced features such ventilated front seats, wireless charging, sunroof, rear AC vents, steering mounted controls and a large 8.0” touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Security features on-board Hyundai Venue include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, cruise control, reverse parking camera and sensors, seat belt reminder, brake assist, speed sensing door lock, and keyless entry.

Hyundai Venue shares its engines with Verna, a 1.4 litre, 4 cylinder petrol engine that generates 100 hp and a 1.4-litre diesel unit that outputs 90 hp. Both engines are mated to 6-speed manual transmission. A Turbo variant of Venue will also be offered, which will be powered by a 1.0 litre, 3 cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that generates 100 bhp of max power and 171 Nm of max torque. Engine will be mated to a 7-speed DSG unit. Venue Turbo variant will also come with three drive modes. Expected price of Hyundai Venue is Rs 8-12 lakh. It will compete with rivals such as Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport.
