Hyundai Venue Testing Continues – Official Bookings Open On 2nd May

Hyundai Motors is set to launch the much awaited Venue compact SUV in India on 21st May 2019. It is the the first Made in India connected SUV. Hyundai Venue borrows design elements from the Santa Fe and Palisade, Hyundai’s largest car till date. Official booking is set to commence from 2nd May 2019, though some company dealers have started accepting refundable deposits for the Venue at Rs.11,000.

Hyundai Venue will come with BlueLink technology that boasts of a total of 33 connectivity features. This will also be the USP of the Venue as no other car in the segment comes with such features.

Hyundai Venue measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,770 mm on width and 1,590 mm in height. The wheelbase measures at 2,500 mm and Hyundai states that the car is built of 69 percent Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and High Strength Steel (HSS) both of which have contributed to enhanced dynamic stiffness and improved structural rigidity.

In terms of its exteriors, the Hyundai gets the company’s signature design language, carries off its strong character lines and flared wheel arches while its front end is dominated by a large bold mesh grille. The interiors are loaded with features both in terms of connectivity and comfort. You get 8 inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, start/stop button, steering mounted controls, sunroof, rear AC vents, etc.

Where safety is concerned; the Hyundai Venue gets a total of 6 airbags, speed sensing door lock, ABS, ESC, Hill Assist Control, ISOFIX seats, etc. Hyundai Venue crash test safety report is not available yet, thus making Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza the only cars in the segment to have a safety rating – of 5 and 4 stars respectively.

Hyundai Venue will be presented with three engine options. The 1.0 liter, turbo petrol engine will offer 120 hp power and 175Nm torque mated to Hyundai’s in house 7 speed DCT and manual 6 speed transmission. The 1.2 liter petrol engine will be capable of 83 hp power and 117 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox while the 1.4 liter diesel will give out 90 hp power and 220 Nm torque and get mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox.
