Also known as Hyundai Solaris in Russia and China, facelift version is already on sale there, and is expected to launch in India in early 2015. Cosmetic upgrades will be aplenty in new Verna while mechanical ones for Indian model will be minimal and are unconfirmed.
New Verna will come with new dual-slat chrome grille and larger headlamps with projector lights. Lower variants other than top end model may continue with halogen bulbs, but given that projector lamps are gaining popularity in Indian market, Hyundai could rewrite them as standard fitment.
Front and rear bumpers will be tweaked for more fluidity in appearance, and the former will get LED DRL integrated into fog lamp housing. Rear apron will receive new reflectors and bare black underlip. Rear end of new Hyundai Verna facelift will be rounded off by new LED tail lamps. Apart from new alloy wheels, there is nothing to be expected on the side of Hyundai’s revised C-segment sedan.
In engine department, choices will be same as in current model. But Verna facelift has a chance of getting a 6-speed automatic unit replacing the current 4-speed automatic transmission. Mentioned 6 AT is already doing duty in Elantra in India.
There may not be much changes in interior of upcoming Hyundai Verna facelift, but Venkat the spy, reported that it has got a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system on the centre console with satellite navigation facility. He added that the trial was about testing the functions and operability of the GPS system.
