The new Jaguar XJ 50 is launched in India at Rs 1.11 crores. This is the company’s flagship sedan to celebrate 5 decades of excellence, delivered over the years by XJ. The ultra luxury saloon was first revealed at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show. It comes into the country as a long wheelbase variant with exclusive updates.
Jaguar XJ 50 shows of the company’s focus of luxury and excellence. It is presented in four new color options of Fuji White, Santorini Black, Loire Blue and Rosello Reds and gets special features as compared to the standard XJL model.
New Jaguar XJ 50 gets a new chrome radiator grille with chrome surrounds, new Autobiography style front and rear bumpers, 19” alloy wheels, illuminated tread plates, bright metal pedals and anodized gearshift paddles along with soft grain diamond quilted seats.
The seats sport an embossed leaper on headrests while the XJ50 logo is prominently displayed on the central armrest along with intaglio branding and XJ50 branding on its exterior illuminated treadplates.
Though there are several feature updates and new color options to show off this special Anniversary Edition of the Jaguar XJ50, the saloon continues to be powered by the same engine. This 3.0 liter, V6 diesel engine offers 296 bhp power and gets mated to an 8 speed ZF automatic gearbox sending power to the rear wheels.
The engine delivers acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 kmph. The XJ50 is priced at Rs 1.11 crores and joins the Jaguar lineup in India which includes the XE priced at Rs.39.73 lakhs, XF priced at Rs.49.58 lakhs and the F Pace at Rs.63.17 lakhs besides the XJ and F TYPE priced from Rs.102.58 lakhs and 90.93 lakhs respectively.
