Jawa claims that the new Perak is set to be its first factory custom motorcycle in India and the most affordable Bobber in its segment. Jawa Perak was showcased along with the Jawa and Jawa 42 in November 2018. At that time, it was only the Jawa and Jawa 42 that were launched.

Perak launch was scheduled for early 2019. But that got delayed to end of 2019. Now, Jawa has sent out media invites, for 15th November. In the invite, they have also teased the Jawa Perak. 15th November also marks reborn Jawa’s first anniversary in India.

Last year, Jawa India had revealed price of the Jawa Perak bobber. It was at Rs.1.89 lakhs, ex-sh. It is not clear if the price will remain same or not. New Jawa Perak boasts of retro styling and will be seen in a colour combination of matte black with gold accents on tank and side panel.

It will receive a cantilever seat, Bobber style single seat in tan leather, rear mirrors on the end of the handlebar, new swingarm and round shaped halogen headlamps. Jawa Perak will also be longer than the Jawa and Jawa 42 though it is underpinned on the same new generation platform. This versatile platform will also be used to underpin the upcoming Yezdi motorcycle.

The Perak sits on 18” front and 17” rear wheels fitted with 90/90 and 100/80 section Pirelli tyres while the Jawa and Jawa 42 get standard MRF tyres. The Perak is equipped with disc brakes at the front and rear with dual channel ABS as standard while suspension is via inverted forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear.

Engine specifications on the Jawa Perak includes a 334cc, DOHC, 4 valve, liquid cooled engine capable of 30 bhp power and 31 Nm torque. The engine gets mated to a 6 speed transmission. Its mileage is estimated at 35 kmpl. Considering that BS6 deadline is near, this could be first Jawa with BS6 engine.

In terms of competition, the Jawa Perak, once launched in the country, will see no real rivals in its segment. But in price range, Jawa Perak will face indirect competition from Royal Enfield Classic 350, Bajaj Dominar 400, etc which are in the sub Rs.2 lakhs price range.
