Jeep Compass sales cross 10,000 units – Becomes best selling luxury car in India
With Jeep Compass booking reaching a gallant 10,000 units in a month of launch, FCA is focused on rapid delivery with minimal waiting period through its' growing dealership network.
The breakneck speed at which Jeep Compass has enthralled Indian buyers isn’t going to be easily imitable, and has rarely been attempted. It’s hardly been a month since launch, and the car has already crossed 10,000 sales mark. On 31st July at the Jeep Compass launch in India, the company today announced that their overall sales have crossed 10,000 units.
Kevin Flynn – President and Managing Director, FCA India says Made in India Jeep Compass has garnered brilliant market traction since bookings were announced. A great entry price point has kept the motion going, and the company is working at plant level in order to deliver cars within the least waiting time.
Commenting on the milestone, Kevin Flynn – President and Managing Director, FCA India said, “The Jeep Compass is proving to be a popular SUV in a short span of time. We are indeed proud to cross the 10,000 Sales milestone and we are confident to continue with this great momentum in the New Year as well.”
He added, “Customers have appreciated the competitive price positioning of the Jeep Compass since launch. Effective January 1, 2018, prices will increase by 2-4%, except for the entry level variant, which will be maintained at INR 15.16 lakh (ex-showroom). Jeep will continue to offer a compelling Product and Price package in the New Year.
Jeep Compass variants range from the 1.4 Multi-Air Turbo Petrol ‘Sport’’ 4×2 variant with a 6-speed manual transmission at Rs. 14.95 Lakh (ex-Delhi) and to the 2.0L MultiJet Turbo Diesel ‘Limited (O)’ 4×4 variant with a 6-speed manual transmission. Available in three trims – Sport, Longitude and Limited and 10 variants, a 4×2 Turbo Petrol with a 7-speed automatic transmission (DDCT) are on offer.
Powertrain options include a 173 PS, 350 Nm, 2.0-litre MultiJet Turbo Diesel and 162 PS, 250 Nm, 1.4-Multi-Air Turbo Petrol. Sport and Longitude trims are available in two-wheel drive (4×2). Top of the line Limited comes in 4×2 and (4×4) options and features Active Drive with Selec Terrain Traction Management System for four terrain modes – Auto, Mud, Sand and Snow.
To keep pace, FCA shift gears. Ranjangaon plant production is up to two shifts through six working days a week to reduce waiting period. Jeep Compass booking numbers have doubled since launch (July 31st), and enquiries have increased 5-fold.
FCA India started Jeep Compass deliveries on August 6, 2017, and is being sold at 50 Jeep-standalone and FCA outlets, across 47 cities. FCA sales network will be expanded to 60 outlets by 2017 end. FCA authorized workshops across India are now Mopar-branded with technicians trained as per global standards and diagnostic techniques to cater to all service related issues.
