All new Jeep Compass Trailhawk has been officially teased in a new video. This is the first ever teaser video launched by the company. Along with the video, new teaser photo has also been released. It confirms the presence of state of the art 9 speed automatic gearbox with 4×4 drive system onboard Trailhawk.
The Compass Trailhawk is currently being manufactured in India, but exclusively for export markets. Similar in style and stance to the one on sale in overseas markets, the Trailhawk is essentially an off-road version of the Jeep Compass. It hence commands higher ground clearance and more rugged styling as compared to that seen on the regular Jeep Compass.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk gets an aggressive stance. It sports rugged bumpers with bulbar cladding, skid plate and dual tone black and red tow hooks on either side of its air dam. The 4×4 capable off roader also gets an anti glare bonnet, blackened ORVMs, A pillars and roof along with a black colored grille and side trims. Watch the teaser video below.
It sits on dual tone 17” alloy wheels fitted with 225/60 R17 tyres setting it apart from its standard variant. It gets 20mm higher ground clearance for taking on rugged terrain and Active Drive Low-Range 4WD along with ‘Rock mode’ for Selec-Terrain 4WD which will further enhance its off road capabilities and performance. This new “Rock” mode is in addition to Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud terrain modes which are offered on regular Compass. The Trailhawk also gets new front and rear bumpers offering better approach and departure angles at 30 degrees and 33.6 degrees respectively along with breakover angle of 24.4 degrees while suspension is also tweaked for better off-roading capabilities.
Interiors of the Jeep Compass Trailhawk are seen in black and red color scheme with black leather seats and red accents. It gets red accents on its dashboard and floor mats along with a leather wrapped gear lever and steering wheel. Infotainment will be via a touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Standard safety features such as hill descent control and parking sensors at the rear will be in addition to all the safety equipment seen on the Jeep Compass.
Engine specifications on the Jeep Compass Trailhawk will include the same engine as seen on the Compass. This 2.0 liter Multijet diesel engine will offer 173 PS power at 3,750 rpm and 350 Nm torque at 1,750-2,500 rpm mated to a ZF sourced 9 speed automatic transmission. It will get a 4×4 drive system. Set to command a price higher than the top of the line Jeep Compass Limited Plus 4×4, which retails at Rs.22.90 lakhs, the Trailhawk could get a price tag of around Rs.25 lakhs. All prices are ex-sh.
