Mandsaur’s Additional Sessions Judge, Mr Rajvardhan Gupta found himself on the wrong side of the law when his car accidentally hit a boy. The incident happened at Sunthod village of Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh. The boy was injured in the accident.
This irked off people on the road who immediately took the law into their own hands and attacked Gupta with utmost vengeance. Gupta is seen running for cover while trying to get away from the hands of his assaulters. His car was turned upside down by the mob who also staged a road blockade.
The entire episode has been captured on camera showing Gupta with torn shirt and distraught face even as the video goes viral. Taking suo moto notice of an assault on a sessions judge, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has initiated a petition against the state government and concerned officers. The petition would come up for hearing on August 1.
Investigation into the accident reveal that Gupta was on his way to Neemuch when the accident occurred. He was trying to overtake another vehicle when his car struck Mukesh Jalod, 14. The impact was so great that the victim was thrown 10 feet away from the impact. He was rushed to a hospital in Malhargarh from where he was taken to the District Hospital.
The police claim that the car was being driven by the driver of the Judge while villagers allege that it was the Judge that was behind the wheel.
