Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636 will compete with Triumph Daytona 675R priced at Rs. 12.73 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai). Which is the same price range as Benelli TNT 1130R which retails for Rs. 12.14 lakhs (ex-Mumbai).
Belonging to the design family of Ninja ZX-10R, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636 is a newer model with contemporary touches. But the more important aspect is its race inspiring engine.

The 636 cc liquid-cooled in-line 4-cylinder fuel-injected engine produces 129.2 bhp max power @ 13,500 rpm and 70.63 Nm peak torque @ 11,500 rpm. The motor is mated to 6-speed gearbox to which a slipper clutch sends power. The bike is installed with more safety features like ABS and traction control. There is an economy indicator in the two-part instrument cluster, which will also indicate which among the two power modes you are riding in.

The bike is built around aluminium perimeter frame, suspended by 41mm inverted Showa SFF-BP fork upfront and Bottom-link Uni-Trak with gas-charged monoshock at the rear. Tyres are of sizes 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 180/55 ZR17 at the rear.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636 is expected to be imported in India via CBU route, which will warrant the steeper price tag. With options like Triumph Daytona and much more powerful Benelli TNT 1130R, it is unclear how well the Ninja will fare in this segment.
