Earlier this year, India’s Royal Enfield announced their entry in the Indonesian market. Now, Japanese brand, Kawasaki has decided to launch a rival cruiser in Indonesia.
This new Kawasaki W175 made its debut at the Kawasaki Bike Week in Indonesia. Priced at IDR 29.8 million (INR 1.38 lakh3), the W175 is an entry level classic motorcycle that is presented in one color of Pearl Crystal White where the Standard type is concerned and in three color options of Metallic Spark Black, Metallic Matte Covert Green and New Silver for the SE variant which is priced at IDR 31 million (INR 1.48 lakh).
Kawasaki W175 gets overall length of 1,930mm and has a 765mm wide handlebar with seat height at 775mm. Total weight is at 126 kgs. The model gets an analogue speedometer with odometer function, trip meter and remote light indicator. It also a Mikuni VM24 caruburetor, peashooter style exhaust system and curved header pipe. The front brake gets a double piston disc of 220mm and it sits on 17” wheels with chrome accents. The standard variant of W175 gets a plain seat while the W175 SE gets seamless seating.
Engine specifications include a 177cc single piston, SOHC, 4 valve engine offering 12.8 ps power at 7,500 rpm and 13.2 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm.
With looks similar to its siblings W800 and W250, Kawasaki W175 is the third retro offering from Kawasaki in Indonesia. It is the most affordable retro bike from Kawasaki and unlikely to find any competition in its segment.
