Not even a month has passed since Kawasaki India launched five new bikes in India, and today they announced the launch of three more bikes. The three new bikes launched today are in the form of Z250, Z1000 and Z1000 R Edition.
The new Kawasaki Z1000 is priced from INR 14.49 lakh, while the Z1000R Edition is priced from INR 15.49 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Pune. Powered by the same engine, the new Z1000 twins are on sale at all Kawasaki India authorized dealers from today.
Speaking about the engine, new Z1000 and Z1000R are powered by the same 1,043cc 4 stroke, 4 cylinder liquid cooled engine. This engine is rated to deliver 142 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 111 Nm of peak torque at 7,300 rpm. Mated to a 6 speed transmission, these figures translates into acceleration time of just 3.4 seconds for a 0-100 kmph dash. It has a top speed of 258 kmph. Fuel efficiency claimed is 20 kmpl. Performance figures for both Z1000 and Z1000R remains same.
What differs the Z1000 from the Z1000R, are the accessories. Z1000R gets Öhlins S46DR1S gas-charged shock at the rear, while the Z1000 gets regular gas-charged shock. It also gets Brembo discs in the front, while the Z1000 gets standard discs. In addition to this, the ECU has been tuned to deliver a better performance, as against the Z1000. Speaking about colour options, the new Kawasaki Z1000 is on offer with Metallic Spark Black and Golden Blazed Green, while the Z1000 R Edition comes in Metallic Spark Black and Metallic Graphite Grey.
