Kia Seltos BS6 engine mileage compared with Hyundai Creta BS4

Kia Seltos will be offered in two petrol and one diesel option and choice of transmission will include both manual and automatic. Bookings have started for Seltos for Rs 25,000 and the company claims to have received more than 6K bookings on first day itself. This is a record, not just for Seltos, but the entire Indian auto industry.

Kia Seltos demo and test drive cars have started reaching dealerships across India. Thanks to this, multiple new photos have been shared online, which detail the Seltos like never before.

Seltos is also the first SUV to offer BS-VI compliant engines from day one. It will have 2 petrol and 1 diesel engine options, which will be mated to either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission options.

Kia Seltos mileage

Kia Seltos 1.5 liter petrol manual will deliver mileage of 16.4 kmpl. The same engine will also be offered with IVT automatic transmission option, which delivers 16.3 kmpl. Seltos GT Line will be powered by a more powerful 1.4 liter turbo petrol engine, which delivers 16.1 kmpl mileage via 6 MT as well as 7 DCT. In comparison, Creta petrol 1.6 manual as well as automatic delivers mileage of 15.29 kmpl.

Kia Seltos 1.5 diesel with manual delivers 20.8 kmpl while the same engine mated to 6 AT delivers 17.8 kmpl. Hyundai Creta diesel 1.6 delivers 19.6 kmpl with manual 6 speed, and 17.1 kmpl with 6 speed AT.

One of the main rivals of Seltos will be Hyundai Creta and above figures show that Seltos offers better mileage than Creta across the board. Moreover, fuel efficiency is not the only thing where Seltos scores higher than rivals. Seltos offers advanced tech systems such as UVO connect that allows users to access a range of internet connected smart features.

Some key features include stolen vehicle tracking, live car tracking, remote vehicle immobilization, geo fencing, auto collision alert, vehicle health report, AI voice commands, maintenance alert and in car air quality monitoring. Safety features include blind spot monitor, six airbags, ABS, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, traction control, and 360 camera.

Kia Seltos, the highly awaited SUV, which marks the entry of Kia Motors into the country, has started moving into company dealerships in India. Test drives will commence in the days ahead and launch date is scheduled for 22nd August 2019.

Kia India manufacturing plant is located in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the largest car plant in India, built at an investment of about Rs 7,000 crores. Kia Motors’ massive investment in its India plant shows that the company is confident of achieving success in the country. The plant will also be used to manufacture cars that will be exported to regions like Latin America, Asia, and Middle East. The plant is expected to start functioning at full capacity in the next three years. Kia has plans to launch four other products in the Indian market in addition to Seltos.

Kia Seltos will enter a highly competitive mid size SUV segment wherein it will find itself competing with the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector and the Jeep Compass.
