Kia Seltos launches on 22nd August 2019 in India. Bookings have already opened at company dealerships. To be offered in two trims of GT Line and Tech Line, in a total of 8 variants and with three engine and four transmission options.

As per initial plan, the GT Line trim was only going to be offered with 1.4 liter turbo petrol variant. But with more and more buyers of Seltos requesting the company to also offer the diesel engine variant with GT Line trim, the company has now changed plans and decided to offer GT Line trim in diesel option as well.

Icing on the cake is the fact that you will now be able to buy top of the line, fully loaded GTX+ trim with diesel automatic combo. This variant is sitting at the top of the lineup and will be the most expensive Seltos offering in India. The Seltos GT X+ variant gets a 1.5 liter CRDi engine mated to a 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Kia Seltos GT Line

Kia Seltos GT Line is the sportier offering. It is seen with red accents on skid plates, door sills and brake calipers and sits on sportier 17” alloy wheels. It gets GT Line badging in its front grille and boot lid while these sporty accents continue to be seen in the interiors.

The cabin is done up in a black color scheme with red accents. Speaking of the GT X+ variant, the top of the line trim, this gets added features that include a Bose premium sound system, sunroof, head up display, ventilated front seats and an 8 way powered driver seat. It also gets a host of safety features among which are a total of 6 airbags, 360 degree camera, rain sensing wipers and electronic stability control.

Kia Seltos will get a total of three engine and four transmission options. The 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine offers 115 PS power and 144 Nm torque. The 1.5 liter diesel engine develops 115 PS power and 250 Nm torque while the 1.4 liter turbo turbo petrol engine is capable of 140 PS power and 242 Nm torque. Transmission options include a 6 speed manual with all engines. IVT auto with petrol 1.5, 6 speed AT with diesel 1.5 and a first in segment 7 speed DCT with petrol 1.4.

No price details have been revealed as on date but the Kia Seltos is expected to be priced between Rs.11-17 lakhs. In this price range, it will find itself competing with the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and the Nissan Kicks in India. It is also expected to take on some of the more affordable variants of Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
