Kia Seltos Tiger nose design meets Tiger Shroff – Teaser video

Showcased as SP Concept at 2018 Auto Expo, Kia Seltos mid-SUV has finally made its global debut. In India, it will be manufactured at the company’s brand new facility in Anantpur, Andhra Pradesh.

Seltos comes in a sleek, trendy package with a fluid design that is pleasing to the eyes. At the front, Seltos features an all LED profile comprising LED headlights, snazzy LED DRLs and LED fog lamps. Adding to its sporty looks are features like Kia’s signature Tiger Nose grille and dotted chrome strip that borders the entire bonnet line.

To highlight the Kia Seltos even further, Kia India has roped in bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, who has now featured in the official teaser video, titled – “Inspired by the badass in you.” Watch the video below.

Kia appears to be upbeat about the Indian auto market and has plans to launch four more vehicles over the next two years. Expected to be launched sometime in August, Kia Seltos will take on rivals such as MG Hector, Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and Hyundai Creta.

Other key features that improve the SUV’s visual appeal include dual-tone exteriors, diamond-cut alloy wheels, flared wheel arches, sloping roofline, shark fin antenna, and funky LED tail lamps.

Interiors look nifty with premium quilted leather seats, chrome accents, music link sound mood-lamp, a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 8-speaker Bose sound system. Seltos also gets an 8-inch HUD and a 7-inch multi information digital display unit.

Just like Hyundai Venue and MG Hector, Kia Seltos also boasts of connected car technologies. Kia has branded the technology as UVO, which offers 37 features across remote access and control, vehicle management, safety and security, navigation, and convenience. Some of the key connected features include remote vehicle immobilization, AI voice commands, stolen vehicle tracking, accident notification, geo fencing, speed alert, remote engine start/stop, and in-car air quality monitor. UVO will be free for the first three years.

Powering Seltos will be 1.5 litre diesel and petrol motors that are BS-VI compliant. These will generate around 120 PS of power. There will be another BS-VI compliant 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that will make around 150 PS. In a segment first, Kia will be offering a choice of four transmission options – IVT, 7DCT, 6AT, and Manual (MT). Seltos will also have drive modes of normal, eco and sport.

Security features on-board Seltos include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, 360° camera, adaptive cruise control and SOS button. Kia is likely to follow an aggressive pricing strategy to improve its chances in this highly competitive segment. Expected price of Kia Seltos is Rs 10-16 lakh.
