KTM 1190 Adventure R, which the company claims is the world’s safest motorcycle with the greatest off-road abilities, has been spotted inside a dealership in India.

KTM 1190 Adventure R is positioned an the centre of the KTM adventure lineup as it sits between the 1090 Adventure and 1290 Super Adventure. KTM 1190 Adventure R will be powered by 1195cc liquid cooled, V twin engine offering 148 hp power and 125 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed transmission. If launched, it will compete against the Benelli Tre-K 1130 Amazonas and Triumph Tiger XCx in India.

Based on a trellis frame, the new KTM 1190 Adventure R weighs a total of 230 kgs. It receives WP suspension and safety features such as Motorcycle Stability Control and tyre pressure monitoring system. Being a sports tourer, ground clearance stands at 220mm and fuel tank capacity is of 23 liters. Other features on board include ABS system with off road mode and four different settings for traction control while cockpit has two display screens. Windshield, footrests and handlebars are adjustable.

KTM 1190 Adventure R

KTM currently offers four motorcycles, Duke 200, Duke 390, RC 200 and RC 390. Speaking about India launch of 1190 Adventure R, there is no official word yet. But, at the launch of RC 200 and RC 390 in September last year, KTM India did confirm that they are planning to launch their big boys in India. The first they plan to introduce is the 1190 Adventure R, and that too via the CKD route!
