KTM 1090, 1290 Adventure range updated – Intermot 2016

Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM has updated their range of 1090 and 1290 Adventure motorcycles and displayed them at the International Motorcycle, Scooter and E-Bike Fair, which will be open for public from 5-9 October 2016 in Cologne.

On display is the 1290 Super Adventure R which is seen with a distinctive new design. It receives a 1290 cc engine offering 173 bhp power and 103.25 lb/ft torque.

Seen with an orange framework and crash bars, the 1290 Super Adventure R gets new LED lights, integrated headlights and 21” front and 18” rear wheels. It is fitted with KTM Tyre Pressure Monitoring System that automatically checks tyre pressure offering a signal to rider in the event of pressure loss.

KTM 1290 Super Adventure S is also on display sporting an orange frame with 19” front and 17” rear tyres. WP semi active suspension at the front and rear allows the rider to select between Comfort, Street, Sport and Off-road through a control menu. Motorcycle Stability Control, multi mode, lean angle with ABS and a 6.5” full color TFT dashboard are among its features. 1290 Super Adventure S is fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres with 120/70 R 19 and 170/60 R 17 tyre sizes.

1290 Super Adventure T is Euro4 complaint and is being heralded as an adventure tourer while the 1090 Adventure R which is also displayed and is being presented for its off roading abilities. It gets a 1050cc V twin engine offering 125 bhp power and if fitted with 21” front and 18” rear tyres. ABS, Traction Control, Slipper Clutch and four rider modes are on offer.

KTM is also presenting the 1090 Adventure at the show where it is seen with similar feature as the Adventure R but with a 125 bhp engine. On board features include adjustable rider ergonomics, cast alloy wheels and a black frame as against the orange seen on the Adventure R. The cast iron wheels get Metzeler Tourance Next 110/70 R19 front tyre and 150/70 R17 rear tyres.
