KTM RC 390 showcased in new paint scheme at Intermot 2016

Intermot 2016 saw KTM showcasing a new colour paint scheme of the RC 390. Engine remains same.

KTM’s partner and stake holder Bajaj manufactures the 125 cc, 200 cc, 250 cc and 390 cc variants of Duke and RC series under the KTM nameplate at their facility in Pune. It is from here that these eight variants are exported to the world.

Now, at the ongoing 2016 Intermot, KTM has unveiled a new paint scheme of the RC 390. This paint scheme is not very different from the KTM theme and comes with black metallic paint on the tank, KTM and RC 390 logos. Apart from that all remains same. See the images below.

At the EICMA in Nov 2015, KTM unveiled updated RC 390 with a new exhaust system. Unlike the previous edition, which had received under-belly exhaust, the new 2016 KTM RC 390 featured a side-mounted exhaust system. Now this was done so as to meet the stricter emission norms in developed countries, especially in Europe.

This new exhaust system would add about INR 10-15k above the price of existing RC 390. And because India the emission norms are not as stringent, KTM decided to not launch the side-mounted exhaust system in India.

In India, KTM launched 2016 edition of all four KTM variants earlier this year. Updated KTM Duke 200 costs INR 1.40 lakh, Duke 390 costs 1.90 lakh, RC 200 costs 1.65 lakh and RC 390 costs 2.09 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

Updates on offer with 2016 KTM RC 390 include slipper clutch, ride-by-wire, always on headlight (headlamp on-off switch no longer there on 2016 variants), plastic flaps on front fork, revised NOK seal, improved seat cushion, improved alloy wheels, new ECU mounts, adjustable handle bar levers, improved radiator fans for better cooling, and much more.
